The River Rother - Newbridge stretch

Overview

The society fosters and maintains excellent river fishing on the Rother. The Newbridge stretch of the river is no exception, and all 20 swims have recently been upgraded to make them more accessible to anglers. 


There are two purpose-built disabled/wheelchair swims, easily accessible from the parking area (See photos in the gallery below for precise location). Off-road parking is available for cars at the layby next to the bridge. 


Species - Trout, Roach, Rudd, Bleak, Dace, Chub, Bream, Tench, Carp, Gudgeon, Ruffe, Perch, Pike, Eels


The coarse fish close season is enforced from 15 March until 15 June inclusive.


Directions

From Rye, head towards Iden on the B2082, Iden road. After the village, continue for a further mile on the Wittersham road.
